Chat GPT Gets Its New Head of Product, read on to Know All About Him

The most potent tool produced by American AI startup Open AI, Chat GPT, a sizable language model, was published towards the end of 2022. A new head of product will oversee the AI language model, which took the globe by storm when it was first released. Peter Deng is taking over and has experience working for digital giants like Google and Meta. Here is all the information you require on him. 

Who Is Peter Deng? 

Peter Deng graduated from Stanford University. After earning his degree in Symbolic Systems, he continued his education by pursuing an MA in Media Studies and Communication. A timeline of his illustrious career appears below: 

Deng began his illustrious career in 2006 when he joined the market-leading search engine Google. He joined Google in the same year that the corporation bought YouTube. Google bought DoubleClick the following year.

He left Google in 2007 and joined Facebook, the most well-liked social media network at the time. He was the director of product management. He worked on numerous projects while there and was instrumental in the creation of Facebook Messenger, Chats, Events, News Feeds, and Groups. He was a key figure in the development of the social media system.  

He became the head of product at the social networking site Instagram in 2013. Deng joined Instagram when there were just 50 employees on the team; yet, his genius caused the user base to increase from a small number to millions. 

Deng stated We want to capture and share the world’s moments on Instagram. It’s a lovely mission. We slightly increase interpersonal empathy and respect for one another’s viewpoints in the world. 

He transferred from Instagram to Oculus, a Facebook-owned company, in 2015 to serve as the head of product management. At Oculus, he worked on virtual reality (VR) and associated technologies. “There are many exciting challenges ahead,” he stated, “including innovating across hardware and software, defining new UI/UX paradigms, enabling a potent platform for developers and users, and helping to mentor and grow a team of talented product managers.” 

Two years later, Deng joined Uber as the Head of Rider, where he oversaw all consumer product initiatives and assisted the business in growing towards its IPO.  

After leaving Uber, he worked for the cloud collaboration platform Airtable, where he assisted in the company’s $10 billion capital raising. 

Deng recently disclosed his intention to join Open AI as the vice president of consumer products.
