Anna Faris Biography, All Details Here

Anna Faris was born on November 29, 1976, in Baltimore, Maryland, to special education teacher Karen Faris and sociology professor Jack Faris. At the age of six, her family moved to Edmonds, Washington.

She made her professional acting debut at nine in the film “Danger: Memory! a one-act drama that debuted at Washington’s “Seattle Repertory Theatre.”

She attended “Edmonds-Woodway High School” and graduated in 1994. While still a student, she was chosen to appear in a frozen yoghurt TV advertisement. She earned an English literature degree from the “University of Washington” in 1999.

She made her acting debut in the 1999 slasher movie “Lovers Lane,” directed by Jon Steven Ward, as the tragic cheerleader Jannelle Bay. The movie had a fair amount of success.

She became more well-known in 2000 after Keenen Ivory cast her as Cindy Campbell in the horror-comedy-spoof movie “Scary Movie.” The movie satirises several notable horror films, including “Scream.”

She returned to the character of Cindy Campbell in the 2001 movie “Scary Movie 2,” which was a follow-up to the original movie “Scary Movie.” Although the film earned well at the box office, critics did not give it favourable reviews.

She acted as the lead in Tom Brady’s comedy movie “The Hot Chick” 2002. She also starred in the drama-horror film “May” that same year, which was well-received by critics.

She appeared in the critically acclaimed “Lost in Translation” film, which won a “Golden Globe” and an “Academy” award in 2003. In the movie, she portrayed Kelly. She also appeared in “Scary Movie 3” in the same year.

She portrayed Lashawn Malone in the critically acclaimed and Golden Globe-winning movie “Brokeback Mountain” in 2005. She also appeared in the romantic comedy movie “Just Friends” that same year.

She portrayed Hannah Lewis in the romantic comedy-superhero movie “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” in 2006. She also appeared in “Scary Movie 4” and “Guilty Hearts” that year.

She acted as the lead in Fred Wolf’s romantic comedy “The House Bunny” in 2008. The critics of the film praised her for playing Shelley Darlington. Despite the negative reviews, the movie did well at the box office.

She provided the voice for Jeanette Miller in the live-action comedy movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” released in 2009. Negative reviews for the film were published.

She portrayed Rachel Johnson in the live-action comedy movie Yogi Bear (2010), which was a remake of the animated series “The Yogi Bear Show.”

She returned to the character of Jeanette Miller in the 2011 sequel to “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.”

In February 2013, Anna Faris starred in Dan Mazer’s directorial debut, the British comedy “I Give It a Year.” Since 2013, Anna has been concentrating on television. She is the star of the CBS sitcom “Mom,” in which she portrays Christy Jolene Plunkett, a single mother of two who struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. The seventh and eighth seasons of the show have currently been renewed.

Later, Anna performed some voice work in films like “The Emoji Movie,” “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” (2017). While “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” garnered high marks from critics, “Alvin and the Chipmunks” (2015) and “The Emoji Movie” received unfavourable reviews.

In the meantime, she appeared in cameo appearances in films, including “Keanu” and “22 Jump Street” (2014). (2016). The romantic comedy “Overboard” from 2018 had her in the starring role opposite Eugenio Derbez. Although the film didn’t win over the critics, it did well at the box office.
