Will Smith Biography

Will Smith, also known by his stage name Willard Carroll Smith, Jr., is an American actor and singer who was born on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was able to go from rap music to acting with ease thanks to his charm and sense of humour.

Smith was given the moniker “Prince Charming” in high school, which he changed to “Fresh Prince” when he started his musical career to represent a more hip-hop sound. He joined forces with deejay and former classmate Jeffrey Townes in 1981.

In 1986, they debuted their first single, “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble,” and their debut album, Rock the House, under the name DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The group’s ground-breaking track “Parents Just Don’t Understand” was published in 1988 and went on to win a Grammy Award (the first Grammy ever presented in the rap performance category).

Due to the lack of intense subjects and words in his songs, Smith’s performance, which was recognised for its wide crossover appeal, was occasionally called “light rap.” He ultimately became noticed by television producers because of songs with platinum certification and related videos.

At the star’s request, it was cancelled after six successful seasons on NBC. But Bad Boys (1995), an action comedy-thriller, ended to being the pivotal film in his acting career. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film generated more over $100 million globally, demonstrating Smith’s star power.
