According to Box Office India, tickets for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way Of Water, which opens in theatres today in India, have been sold for a total of Rs. 30 crore net. Reservations were incredibly common in the South, including smaller places like Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Kurnool, and Tirupati.

This is noticeably less than front-ended superhero movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($28 million), but it is viewed as a positive because superhero fare also experiences a sharp decline after the first weekend. Contrarily, Avatar 2 is anticipated to enjoy consistent viewing as audiences select the finest platform to experience Cameron’s spectacular.

By Wednesday, the sequel has sold one million tickets on BookMyShow and may break box office records held by Indian and Hollywood blockbusters like Dangal, KGF: Chapter 2, and Avengers: Endgame.

More than 3800 theatres are expected to showcase 17000 showings of the film per day. It attempts to rank among the top 3 Hollywood films that have ever made the most money in India. Avengers: Endgame ($53 million), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($32.67 million), and Avengers: Infinity War are among the titles on this list (Rs. 31.30 cr).

The movie’s trailer was made available on November 2 and is scheduled for release on December 16. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprise their roles as Jake Sully and Neytiri in this sequel to the 2009 film Avatar. Significant parts are also played by Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, David Thewlis, Brendan Cowell, and others. It will be presented in English, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi in 2D, 3D, 3D Screen X, 4DX, and IMAX 3D.
