Nadia Amine, a contentious Twitch broadcaster most known for her Call of Duty: Warzone streams, has been barred from the site for 14 days as of Thursday, December 15. With her outstanding Call of Duty: Warzone gaming, Nadia has become a rising sensation on Twitch. Nadia’s feeds have not, however, been free of controversy.
Twitch Bans Nadia
In Call of Duty: Warzone, Nadia has come under fire for allegedly using aimbots and wallhacks to get an advantage over other players. Despite these allegations, Nadia has not been barred from playing Call of Duty: Warzone; in fact, Activision invited her to play the game at a special pre-release event alongside several other well-known content producers. Nadia has embraced the charges of cheating, frequently making jokes about them on her feeds and TikTok profile.
It doesn’t appear that Nadia’s 14-day Twitch suspension has anything to do with Call of Duty: Warzone or possible game-related cheating. The streamer claimed that she was kicked off Twitch for “sharing personal information.” The fact that Nadia doesn’t appear to know precisely what she did on live to cause this suspension emphasises the constant complaints streamers have about Twitch’s ban policy.
Some have concluded that the conduct must not have been that terrible since Nadia and her supporters appear to have no idea why Twitch enforced this ban. Others have noted that, whatever Nadia may have done, some Twitch streamers have done considerably worse and received far shorter bans, thus it seems excessive to ban her for 14 days. Twitch has occasionally given streamers their bans early lifts in the past, but it’s unclear if that will happen with Nadia.
This Twitch ban may be used by Nadia to promote her channel’s growth. When prominent streamers return from bans, they can find that their viewership has grown even more since they departed, as their ban ironically increased attention to their channel and increased their popularity. Nadia’s channel will likely have the same results once her Twitch ban is lifted as long as she continues to interact with her fans on social media.
We can only hope that Nadia’s future Twitch streams won’t encounter issues like this or circumstances where she was swatted live on stream. While they wait for Nadia to return to Twitch, fans can still view her TikTok videos and other online content.
