This manual explains how to play Powerball. You must choose five main numbers from 1 to 69, plus one Powerball number from 1 to 26 in order to play this game. Select the 1 through 26 Powerball numbers you want to play from the lower playing area, or click the “QP” (Quick Pick) box to have a machine choose your numbers at random.
Mark the QP box in the upper field for white balls or the QP box in the lower field for Powerball for each play you want to purchase if you want the terminal to randomly select your Quick Pick number.
This manual concentrates on Powerball strategy. Picking five primary numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26 constitutes the game. Choose your Powerball numbers (1–26) from the lower playing area, or click the “QP” (Quick Pick) option to have a computer choose your numbers at random.

For each play you want to purchase, mark the QP box in the upper field for white balls or the QP box in the lower field for Powerball if you want the terminal to randomly select your Quick Pick number.
Give your play slip and $2 per play (plus $1 for each Power Play option you chose) to the store clerk in exchange for your Powerball tickets. Depending on which Power Play Ball is chosen at any particular drawing, Power Play may multiply your win by two, three, four, five, or ten times.
Any non-jackpot wins on your Powerball ticket are multiplied by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times if you win the jackpot using the Power Play option (10x Power Play multiplier is only available when the jackpot is projected at $150 million or less).
Match-5 prizes will not be subject to the multiplier of 2, but a Power ball prize with a Power Play will be fixed at $2 million. With the Power Play add-on, any prize that is not a jackpot will be increased by a number determined at random prior to each drawing: 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x.
Although the winning sums fluctuate between the Power Play and Double Play, the odds of matching numbers are the same. If you match five numbers but do not hit the Power ball, you might win $1 million or $2 million depending on whether you purchased a Powerplay. During the drawing, a random number between 2 and 10 is chosen to determine which of the lower seven Powerball payout levels will receive a prize.
Prior to the draw, the Power Play game’s number multiplier (between 2 and 5; 10 included when the announced jackpot is $150 million or less) is chosen. This number multiplier is revealed during the draw, which also includes the random drawing of five numbers from a pool of 69 numbers (white balls) and one Powerball number (red balls) between 1 and 26.
