Senior animator claims that Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse is not a “kids’ movie” and has a mature plot

According to senior animator Ere Santos, Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse is not a “kid’s movie” and features a mature plot. The movie, which would be released the next year, also features Dhanush as the voice of Pavitr Prabhakar.

Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse is undoubtedly one of the most widely anticipated movies of the next year. The follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will hit theatres next summer. Senior animator Ere Santos claims that the sequel is not a “kid’s movie.”

It is not a “kids’ movie,” Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse.

There hasn’t been any information disclosed about the plot or its possible significance for India, despite the fact that Dhanush’s Pavitr Prabhakar is one of the film’s new characters and a member of the gang of Spider-People tasked with defending the globe. Senior character animator Ere Santos has given the impression that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is not a family movie.

It was a really challenging project, he said. As with every production, there were numerous frustrating moments as a result. However, what kind of kept us going was the ability to view a new render and say, “Okay, all right? ” when we were annoyed, something changed, or a sequence was condensed. Let’s continue on. I also found myself pondering a few of the choices that the characters in the book made. Okay, no issue. Is this a movie for kids? I don’t think it’s a family movie. Okay, I see. Oh, it’s okay. Consequently, I am very, very excited.

In an interview with The Direct, Ere Santos added the following when speaking about the movie’s mature themes: “More specifically, I think what makes it so exciting is the variety of art forms they use, the variety of effects they have on the variety of images, and the variety of worlds you can explore. Although a lot has already been said, from the inside looking out, I’ve noticed things in the movie that I’ve never noticed in previous works of art. And I’m eager for everyone to see it.”

The antagonist of the upcoming two sequels, The Spot, played by Jason Schwartzman, was revealed earlier this month. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will hit theatres on June 2, 2023.
