In response to her and Hailey Bieber’s viral photo from last month, singer Selena Gomez has finally spoken up. According to Fox News, Gomez responded, “Yeah, it’s not a big deal,” when questioned about it in a recent interview with Vulture. It is not even a thing, “she added.

Selena and Hailey can be seen handing around in the photo, which was taken last month at an Academy Museum of Motion Pictures event. Because Hailey married Selena’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, fans have long pitted the two against one another.
For eight years, Justin and Selena were romantically involved. He was connected to a number of women during their breaks, including Sofia Richie and Hailey. They broke up in March of the following year, though, after parting ways for the final time in late 2017. This was around the same time Justin rekindled his romance with Hailey, whom he later married in 2018.

The married couple’s marriage has drawn criticism from Selena’s fans, who also question the timing of their marriage.
According to Fox News, when photographer Tyrell Hampton posted a picture of Selena and Hailey hugging at the event to Instagram, the comments section was flooded with people who were shocked by the friendship, didn’t think the reconciliation was real, and thought it was time to move on and leave them alone.
Only a few weeks had passed since Hailey had an interview where she discussed her relationship with Justin and how she handles the criticism she receives from those who think she stole Justin from Selena.
“Fans wish he ended up with someone else, and that’s fine. You can wish that all you want, but that’s just not the case,” Hailey said. Regarding her relationship with Gomez, she reportedly told Fox News that they “owe anybody anything but respect” and that there is only love between them.”
