The day before her older sister, Malia, was photographed in West Hollywood, Sasha Obama made a fashion statement as she made her way to class at the University of Southern California on Wednesday.
The youngest child of former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, a college student, looked as fashionable as ever as she walked through campus holding a $275 Telfar Clemens fake leather shopper in the crook of her arm. On the unseasonably warm October day, Sasha, 21, fought the heat in a black patterned little dress with ruffles as temperatures rose to the mid-90s throughout Los Angeles.
Sasha Obama paired the summery bohemian dress with tan suede lug sole boots and thick black socks pulled up to her calves for an autumnal update. The former first daughter was on trend with her extra-large tote bag and boots—two fall fashion must-haves. The Wall Street Journal called her Telfar Clemens tote, available in various sizes and hues, an “It” bag in 2019. However, it is presently unavailable in every design on the company’s website.
Sasha Obama, known for her love of jewellery, was wearing three layered necklaces, one of which was a gold chain with a sizable pendant. She had rings on most of her fingers and a stack of bangles on her left wrist. Her back and shoulders had flowing waves in the centre part, and she had long, dark hair.
Sasha Obama was walking with Airpods in her ears and her phone. Her style indicated that she was either listening to music or a podcast. Despite being one of the most famous children in the world, she frequently mixes in with her fellow students on campus and looks quite at home there.
After transferring from the University of Michigan to USC, Sasha Obama relocated to Los Angeles earlier this year to complete her college studies.
Sasha Obama is following in the steps of her older sister, who, after graduating from Harvard University last year, moved to the West Coast to pursue a career as a screenwriter. On Thursday, the 24-year-old Malia was spotted conducting errands in West Hollywood while sporting a white button-down shirt and denim cutoff shorts.
Sasha Obama avoided looking overly fussy by cuffing her sleeves and leaving the top buttons of her shirt undone. The aspiring screenwriter’s grey ankle socks and running shoes provided still another layer of comfort. A canvas tote that she threw over her shoulder completed the off-duty image for her.
Her black sunglasses were perched atop her head, and Sasha Obama long, rust-coloured braids were flowy around her shoulders. She was seen going to her destination while traversing a parking garage while holding her telephone in her hand.
After serving as an intern on Lena Dunham’s HBO series Girls in 2015 and at The Weinstein Company in 2017, Malia landed a lucrative job working on Donald Glover’s upcoming Amazon series about a “Beyoncé-type character.” The former first daughter of the United States was given her first writing assignment for the series, initially titled “Hive,” according to Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, who confirmed this in March. He described Malia as “just like an extraordinarily talented person” in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Their famous father, who has recently seen dining with them at Hamasaku, a sushi restaurant in West LA, has been paying the two girls regular visits. Both Obama ladies are rumoured to be in relationships now and appear to enjoy life on the West Coast.
Sasha Obama was dating Clifton Powell Jr., 24, the son of Ray actor Clifton Powell; DailyMail.com exclusively revealed it in April. Sasha and Clifton Jr. are believed to have met after she moved to California, and it appears they are already close because he has frequently been spotted with her older sister.
Malia is seeing music producer Dawit Eklund in the interim. They were first seen getting takeaway together on July 26, and things seem to be going well for them. Jon Eklund, a retired State Department official who served in various American embassies in Africa, and his Ethiopian wife Yeshi, who is now 66 years old, are the parents of Dawit, 33.
He co-founded the Ethiopian music label 1432 R in Washington, D.C., and received his degree from George Washington University, where he studied international development in Africa.
Michelle, the mother of Sasha and Malia, talked about how they have all grown up during a last appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April.
The 64-year-old DeGeneres recalled how her daughters had first viewed the show as young girls eager to see the Jonas Brothers. But they’ve moved on from being boybands to boyfriends more than ten years later.
She remarked, “Now they’re bringing grown guys home.” They currently have boyfriends, actual lives, and all that. They are doing well and have developed before our very eyes.
