Microsoft Launches Viva Engage App

At Inspire 2022, Microsoft highlighted its plans to incorporate Viva Engage into Teams. Reportedly, the company revealed that its enterprise social networking site, which resembles Facebook, is now generally accessible to users.

Yammer is the basis of Viva Engage, which enables users to communicate with one another, ask questions, and exchange information and ideas. It also offers additional features like the option to send notifications to Outlook, Teams, and Viva Connections, as well as virtual events and pinned discussions.

Viva Engage Features

The Viva Engage app will get a storyline section in September that will include posts, short videos, photos, and other content. Sharing news, accomplishments, and a person’s interests should benefit coworkers. Within the app’s storyline view, users can browse stories posted by others. The public preview of the tales feature will be accessible in the coming months.

“Viva Engage also brings new features—storyline and stories—which enable employees to connect with colleagues by sharing their thoughts, knowledge, and experiences through conversations and videos. On the Storylines tab, the feed shows posts from peers and popular posts from across the network, and the Following feed lets you catch up on updates from people you follow,” the company explained about the platform.

How to work with Viva Engage App?

All Microsoft 365 commercial clients have access by default to the new Viva Engage app, storyline, and stories. IT administrators can deploy the app in their company when visiting the Teams Admin Center.

Administrators can also install and add Viva Engage to the Teams app bar for all desktop and web users using Teams app policies. The app can be found in the app tray for mobile users. The Viva Engage app supports the same privacy, security, compliance, and manageability standards set up for Yammer.

Additionally, Microsoft intends to add the storyline and story features to the Yammer app on all platforms. To further integrate with the Viva Engage experience, the company will also upgrade the Yammer Communities app for Outlook.
