Constipation was a common complaint among people in the 1960s and 1970s. Constipation pain, irregular bowel motions, and hard, dry stool are the symptoms. Moreover, a lack of physical exercise alone might result in constipation.

The digestive health issues that develop as people age were thoroughly described by Dr Vishakha Kalikar, GI Surgeon and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Zen Multispeciality Hospital in Chembur.

People from the 1960s and 1970s frequently experienced constipation. Infrequent bowel motions, hard, dry stool, and painful bowel movements are the symptoms. Constipation can also result from a lack of physical activity.

The most prevalent upper GI disorder, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), is most frequently encountered in older adults, although it can affect persons of any age. Reflux can be brought on by consuming fried and quick food late at night. Moreover, heartburn can result from blood pressure drugs. And to top it all off, GERD and heartburn risk can both rise with weight.

An upset stomach can also be brought on by medications, bad eating habits, and inactivity. There will be infrequent bowel movements and a bloated feeling.

She gave the following advice while discussing how you might improve digestion: “It will be crucial for you to eat fresh fruits, whole grains, veggies, legumes, pulses, and seeds. Consume foods high in fibre and steer clear of hot, oily, canned, and processed meals. In other words, avoid eating sweets, nankeens, burgers, pizza, Chinese, bakery items, candies, aerated drinks, sweets, samosa, vada, and French fries.

To help your body rid itself of pollutants, drink plenty of water. Limit your salt intake and be sure to exercise every day. Probiotics are a good choice and try to avoid stress, as stress can affect the digestive system.
