The most followed user on TikTok is social media sensation Khaby Lame, known for his silent comedic videos.
According to The Verge, Lame eclipsed Charli D’Amelio’s 142.3 million followers on Wednesday to become the platform’s most active user.
Lame, an Italian resident who was born and raised in Senegal, is well known on TikTok for his videos in which he breaks down difficult “life hacks.”
According to The Verge, Lame currently has 142.7 million account followers.

According to an article in The New York Times, the social media celebrity apparently lost his job as an Italian manufacturing worker in March 2020.
According to the newspaper, his consistent posting of videos to TikTok gradually attracted viewers, and his “wordless, emotional reaction clips” generated a global following that extends beyond his early Italian-heavy recordings.
He claimed to The New York Times in 2021 that “It’s my face and my expressions which make people laugh.”
D’Amelio and her sister Dixie have taken the TikTok world by storm and used their fame to bank millions, including an estimated $27.5 million in 2021, according to Forbes. Lame’s accomplishment surpasses theirs.
