Kevin Bacon Praises Daughter For Her Work In Smile

In contrast to his customary eagerness to talk about his own film endeavors, Kevin Bacon recently got the opportunity to extol the virtues of his daughter Sosie Bacon and her recent triumph in the horror film Smile.

In films like Hollow Man and They/Them, Bacon dabbled in the horror genre, and his daughter has proven she is more than capable of continuing in his footsteps. The Hollywood Reporter quoted Bacon.Read on to learn more on how Kevin bacon praises daughter.

Kevin Bacon Praises Daughter

“She’s great in the movie. She’s fantastic. We didn’t know she was really interested after that in pursuing any kind of an acting career. But when she finally, in her early 20s, decided that this is what she wanted to do, she dropped out of college and moved to L.A. and really started doing all the right stuff,”Kevin said while praising her daughter.

Friday the 13th, a low-budget horror film, was Kevin Bacon’s first appearance on a large screen. Despite the fact that Bacon’s character didn’t survive the film, it went on to become one of the most successful horror series in cinematic history, and Bacon continued to appear in the genre in a number of classics.

Kevin Bacon has already left his mark on the genre, whether it was through serious films like Flatliners and Stir of Echoes or the comedic horror of Tremors. And he doesn’t seem to be finished yet; after this year’s slasher film They/Them, he’ll be appearing as the villain in the remade version of The Toxic Avenger alongside Peter Dinklage.

The success of Smile, which received acclaim from audiences, critics, and even horror maestro Stephen King, suggests that Sosie won’t lag too far behind him either. This is because many producers and filmmakers now consider Sosie first and foremost when casting new films. Even while it appears that Smile won’t have a sequel anytime soon, the actress obviously has a bright future in Hollywood and the horror subgenre in particular. Who knows, maybe in the not too distant future the two may be able to work together on screen after having her father direct her in her first film in 2005.
