In India, the Pixel 6a will be released, marking Google’s first phone in the nation in almost two years

One of the main issues with Google’s Pixel series is its limited distribution, but it appears that Google is now stepping up its efforts. The Google Pixel 6a will be available in India, marking the company’s first smartphone sale in the country in over two years.

Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among the 12 nations where Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are available. According to Google’s documentation, the next Pixel 6a will be available in the same locations, as well as returning to Puerto Rico after Google skipped the US island with its Pixel 5a.

However, Google confirmed to Android Central that the Pixel 6a will be available in India “later in 2022.” The delayed launch will be Google’s first in over two years in India. The Pixel 4a, which debuted in India in October 2020, was the company’s most recent new smartphone for India.

The Pixel 4a appears to have been a hit in India, with Google announcing in early 2021 that it will “further intensify the focus” on the Indian market. However, the Pixel 5a was exclusively available in the United States and Japan, while the Pixel 6 series was also omitted from the Indian market due to “supply concerns.”

Google might perform well in the Indian market, which is now dominated by Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus, and others, with the more powerful Tensor chip under the hood and a reasonable price tag to boot.

The Pixel 6a’s exact price in India is yet to be determined.
