Here Is All the Information You Need to Know About the AFRIMA 2022 Edition

The nominee list for the All Africa Music Awards of AFRIMA 2022 has already been made public. The AFRIMA awards’ worldwide executive committee released the list on Wednesday.

Numerous notable Nigerian singers, including Kizz Daniel, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage, have been nominated. Beginning on Sunday, September 25, 2022, the public voting option through the portal will be operational. The gateway will remain open until December 10, 2022, when it will shut off until the award ceremony.

A four-day music festival called the AFRIMA awards ceremony includes glitz, glamour, and music. The purpose of the celebration is to recognize new talent and the economic frontiers that embrace African culture and creativity.

Both Kizz Daniel and Fireboy are up for nominations in the Best African Collaboration category. On the other hand, Tiwa Savage is listed under the category of Best Female Artiste in West Africa. Additionally, it features additional artists, including Ckay and Ruger.

With a total of six nominations for categories including “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in Use of African Dance/Choreography,” “Breakout Artist of the Year,” “Best African Collaboration,” and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Electro,” African artist Costa Titch is in the lead. Dadju has also received six nominations in addition to him.

Didi B, a rapper from the Ivory Coast, and Soolking, a vocalist from Algeria, have both received five nominations. Egyptian rapper and record producer Wegz, who received the third-highest nomination, has five nominations. Superstars from Africa, including Nomfundo Moh and Zakes Bantwini have received four nominations.

Adam Tiran, a member of the AFRIMA jury and the region’s representative for Southern Africa, remarked, “The sheer breadth of music from all over the continent that we considered at the AFRIMA adjudication for this year’s awards is mind-blowing.”

Adam continued talking about the nomination list; Adam continued, It’s encouraging to see so many African superstars on the list, other rising stars who have had a fantastic year, and, finally, many brands’ new music discoveries. The future is bright for the continent!”

With 9,067 entries this year, AFRIMA 2022 has seen a record amount. The Jury has chosen 382 nominations for 39 categories.

The award ceremony will occur the following Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at an undisclosed venue. The award ceremony is planned from December 8 to December 11.
