Some of the most well-known and iconic villains from the Disney library that will soon be included in the game are featured in a new teaser for the RPG mobile game Disney Mirrorverse. These villains have roots in several beloved Disney animated classics, including Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and A Nightmare Before Christmas.
Disney Mirrorverse is centered on allowing users to take on the roles of some of the company’s animation and live-action brands’ heroes as they band together to save the multiverse. The heroes have alternate universe redesigns that focus on warfare and go by the name “Guardians.” Disney Mirrorverse debuted earlier this summer and featured characters like Sully from Monsters Inc. and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.
Almost all of the cast has been made up of heroes, with only a few villains like Captain Hook and Scar. The roster of historical villains that players can summon has been expanded.
The trailer begins with Oogie-Boogie from A Nightmare Before Christmas using a mace to defeat some adversarial Fractured creatures while shielding himself with a spiky shield. The trailer’s narrative also references the villains and playable roles in this game, remarking that “sometimes the best hero is a villain.” The trailer then shows off a re-designed Ursula, where she battles the Fractured with her tentacles and black powers.
The advent of Hades from Disney’s Hercules is signalled by blue flames that erupt from the earth when Fractured creatures assault the cunning pair a second time. This suggests that Hades will also be a character that players can summon. The three characters team up with Maleficent, a playable antagonist on the Mirrorverse roster, towards the end of the trailer, which fades out to a shot of Jafar, suggesting he’ll join the playable roster or serve as the main antagonist of this next event.
Maleficent, who originally served as a boss in Disney Mirroverse, was the one who created the Fractured. Therefore there was a reasonable probability that other NPC antagonists in the game would also join the roster. Fans may anticipate amusing exchanges between some playable heroes and these recently introduced villains because the game also includes plot events that emphasise the crossover concept.
For mobile devices, Disney Mirrorverse is presently available.
