The Fresh Off the Boat star announced her second pregnancy on Instagram Story on February 21. Constance commented, beside a picture of her expanding baby bulge, “a bun is baking. Second Filipina baby on the way [love emoji].”
The announcement of Constance Wu pregnancy comes two years after she gave birth to a daughter with singer Ryan Kattner.

The Crazy Rich Asians star has generally avoided the spotlight since becoming a mother and has refrained from disclosing specifics about her family life, such as the name of her daughter. Constance did reveal that her daughter had a “blue butt” due to congenital dermal melanocytosis, a common birthmark present in newborns that may disappear with time, during a May 2021 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
She told host Jimmy Fallon at the time, “Apparently, it happens in a lot of Asian infants, and my partner and I are both Asian.” “Simply said, I think it’s a pretty unique thing. She can’t, you know, flaunt it while she strolls down the sidewalk since she isn’t yet walking.”
The actress provided a rare look into her life as a working parent in June 2022 when she revealed to E! News that her co-star in The Terminal List, Chris Pratt, even gave “excellent advise on storing breast milk.”
She said of the Guardians of the Galaxy actor, who welcomed daughter Lyla with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2020, “He and I both had kids around the same time.” Being able to pow-wow with someone who was experiencing the same things as a parent was enjoyable.
Having worked on a range of projects, including family-friendly sitcoms and movie musicals, Constance is eager for the day when her daughter will get to see her accomplishments. She told E! during the October 2022 premiere of Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, “I started my TV career doing a family show, which was amazing.” And hopefully, I can share that with my daughter now that I have a child.
If she could sit still for longer than 10 minutes, which she can’t now but perhaps soon, Constance said, “She’s just 2!”
