Britney Spears received harsh criticism for her claims that Christina Aguilera was the victim of “body shaming.” The singer posted a second Instagram clarification after receiving criticism.
Britney Spears drew criticism on the internet for her remarks on Christina Aguilera and her dancers in a social media post. Spears wrote, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people,” as the caption of an Instagram image that featured an illustration of two fairies. She said she wished that she had chosen the nannies for her children. She continued,” my dancers. I mean, if I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers, I would have looked extremely small.”

She received harsh criticism for her post, and the singer-songwriter came under fire for body-shaming Aguilera. Britney said, however, that she had no intention of demeaning Aguilera’s “beautiful body” in an interview. In addition, the singer admitted that her initial remarks were a projection of the insecurities she deals with all the time due to how her parents and the media have treated her.
She added that she was not being critical of Christina’s beautiful body. She flew to see her show once, and the main thing she noticed was the difference between the people on stage. She said that she didn’t even mention Christina. She added, “look at my post!!! I was inspired by her show, and she is a beautiful woman of power … Thank you, @xtina, for inspiring me !!!” Spears said that she would “never intentionally body shame anybody because I know what it feels like.”
She then mentioned in the post that she was not trying to be critical of anybody. What she posted is a projection of the insecurities she deals with all the time due to how her parents and the media have treated her. She would never intentionally body shame anybody because she knows what it feels like. She struggles with this because she thinks about herself, not because she hates how anybody looks. She feels like her family knew she was insecure.
She added, ” People were trying to purposefully feed into this insecurity by not letting me have a choice in the people on stage with me. I appreciate you all understanding with me as I figure out this new life I’m living !!!”
Spears, meanwhile, just received her freedom from a conservatorship that has controlled her life for almost 14 years. The musician informed the judge of her conservatorship’s restrictions on marrying and discontinuing birth control in June last year.
