In the Salman Khan-hosted show, you’ll see Miss India runner-up Manya Singh and television actors Tina Dutta, Shalin Bhanot, and Shivin Narang.
Next weekend marks the premiere of Bigg Boss 16, which Salman Khan hosts. Unlike prior ones, there isn’t much buzz about the reality show this season. Here are the first confirmed identities of the candidates, while a few well-known celebrities’ names are making the rounds in the media. The show has locked-in television actors Tina Dutta, Shivin Narang, Shalin Bhanot, and Miss India runner-up Manya Singh.
Bigg Boss 16 Confirmed Contestants
The contracts for more actors like Imlie star Sumbul Touqueer, Sreejita De, Kanika Mann, Prakruti Mishra, and others have also been finalised, but they have not yet been signed. Munawar Faruqui, who was likely the first competitor to be confirmed when he could not compete on Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, is currently undecided about participating in yet another contentious programme. A source told indianexpress.com that several competitors are at various stages of confirmation. Due to unfinished financial negotiations, the majority of their contracts are awaited. The actors will begin filming promos and getting ready for their time in the BB house once it is secured.
Manya Singh came second in Miss India 2020 competition and appeared in a few business advertisements. She made headlines for disclosing her problems and dealing with prejudice because of her appearance and poor English. Manya stated that her goal was to make her parents proud and provide them with a good life. Her father worked as an auto-rickshaw driver in Mumbai.
Readers are likely already aware of Tina Dutta’s overnight success with her show Uttaran. This season’s candidates are also rumoured to include Sreejita De, who joined her as the lead after the leap. While Shivin Narang (Veera) might present the lovely and composed side, Shalin Bhanot (Bigg Boss 13) would use the opportunity to speak candidly about his divorce from Daljit Kaur and the claims that he beat his wife. Odia actor Prakruti Mishra, a national award winner who previously appeared in Ace of Space 2, is scheduled to spend time alone in the Bigg Boss 16 house. Fahmaan Khan, the male lead in Imlie, received much attention, but the show may eventually add the titular hero Sumbul.
In addition to these people, filmmaker Sajid Khan is reportedly expected to join the show. Following several #MeToo claims against him, the director withdrew from the spotlight. He recently revealed his upcoming movie, 100%. In addition to Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s husband, who was detained for allegedly producing and disseminating sexual films via mobile applications, might also show up on Bigg Boss 16 to speak his “truth.” ETimes said that Just Sul and Abdu Rozik, two prominent figures on social media, would also appear in the programme.
The biggest names this season, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivian Dsena, have already stated they will not appear on the programme. In a media statement, Vivian said, “This has become such a joke now that even my fans have started replying on my behalf. It’s a yearly rumour, which I have become used to. I was never interested in this reality show and didn’t see myself fitting into the format.
Divyanka Tripathi, on the other hand, posted a clarification in response to rumours regarding her participation in the programme. “Hi! Since all my admirers and viewers are very eager to know, I am compelled to tweet that – “I am not a part of Big Boss. Whatever you are hearing and reading in this regard is false news.” Thanks for overwhelming love always!” she posted.
