Before “Megxit,” the real reason Prince Harry refused to speak to his brother was revealed.

Many people hoped that Prince Harry, Prince William, Meghan Markle, and Kate Middleton would be able to settle their disputes once and for all following the passing of Queen Elizabeth and the reunion of the “Fab Four.” However, rumor’s claim that Meghan and Harry didn’t restore their ties with the rest of the family before going back to their Montecito home. Harry has repeatedly stated that he and his brother are estranged, but why the formerly close friends stopped communicating has never been clarified. A recent book, however, claims that it knows why Prince Harry and Prince William stopped speaking before the Brexit vote.

In an extract from Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, Valentine Low describes how Meghan Markle’s entry into the realm of the royals was problematic from the beginning. The book is scheduled to be released by Headline Books on October 6. When the complete documentary was released, it was evident that William and Harry had grown apart. When asked about the supposed separation between him and his older brother, Harry responded, “We are certainly on different paths at the moment, but I will always be there for him, as I know he will always be there for me.”

According to Low, “He realized they were in crisis.” The day after the documentary aired, William whatsapped his brother to ask if he could come and see him. This put Harry and Meghan into a spin. What should they do? Initially, Harry was in favour. Then he spoke to his brother again and asked who he would tell. William explained that he would have to clear his schedule, which would mean telling his private secretary.

At that point, Harry said don’t come. He was so concerned that William’s team would leak the visit to the press that he would rather they did not come than the risk it getting into the papers.
