In the westside of Los Angeles’ Mar Vista neighborhood, Anne Heche, an ex-girlfriend of Ellen DeGeneres, crashed her car into a residence. Firefighters had to extricate the car’s lone occupant, Heche, from the residence after flames broke out.
Four days after the actor was hurt in a violent vehicle crash, Anne Heche was still hospitalised and in need of surgery on Tuesday. According to spokeswoman Heather Duffy Boylston, “Shortly after the accident, Anne went unresponsive, slipping into a coma and remains in critical condition.” She needs mechanical ventilation due to a serious lung injury, and she also has burns that need surgery.
Pulmonary denotes a concern for the lungs. Heche’s buddy and podcast co-host Duffy Boylston gave no additional information.
Heche’s car collided with a home on August 5 on the westside of the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Mar Vista. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, it took nearly 60 firemen more than an hour to put out the flames.
Heche, an Ohio native, first rose to fame in the 1987–1991 season of the NBC soap opera Another World, for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy.
In the late 1990s, Heche’s acting career took off thanks to roles with actors like Johnny Depp (Donnie Brasco) and Harrison Ford (Six Days, Seven Nights).
Heche spoke about her abusive upbringing and ongoing battles with mental illness in her 2001 autobiography, Call Me Crazy.
From 2001 to 2009, she was wed to cameraman Coleman Laffoon. Together, they have a son. She gave birth to a second son while dating the actor James Tupper, who was her co-star in the television series Men in Trees.
Over the past 20 years, Heche has continuously appeared in lesser films, on Broadway, and in TV series. She recently appeared in repeat episodes of the network television shows Chicago P.D. and All Rise, and she competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2020.
